50th Friendship Anniversary

Next month 50 years ago I met my best friend on the bus whilst travelling home from the work each evening.   We both worked in the City in adjoining buildings and caught the same bus home as we lived two streets apart.   I wanted to make her something that she could use with a hint of gold fabric to mark this occasion.   After much deliberating a decision was made to go with a drawstring bag - as you can see in the photo the drawstring needs to be purchased - a snap top bag, a glasses case and a purse sized tissue holder for her handbag all with a gold trim.   I will get these in the post during the week as she now resides in Queensland.

Also this week hubs and I celebrated our 5th anniversary of moving from our home of 45 years into our new home.   A glass of bubbles seemed appropriate.

And in keeping with the RSC of pink  for this month a couple of pink beanies were made.   The bright one does have some bright pink in it.

Looking forward to seeing what colour is chosen for May.

Back soon and in the meantime

Happy sewing all

  2. Happy 50th Frienship Anniversay. These long term friendships are so special. I lost my wonderful childhood friend of 70 plus years just 12 months ago, so sad, as it was just 6 months on from losing my beloved husband Robin.
